New cooking school in Calgary
If you are looking for a fun and educational activity for your kids, you’re at the right place. Our school specializes in cooking classes for younger children in a family-friendly in-home kitchen. So roll up your sleeves, guys and dig in, make a mess and learn new skills along the way! 🙂
Our children’s cooking classes are
- suitable for kids from four to eight years old,
- 90 minutes long,
- on Wednesday mornings, from 11.30-1.00 pm.,
- $25 for one child, $40 for siblings per class. Moms don’t pay for themselves in these classes.
In each cooking class, the kids
- will bake something to take home,
- will prepare a quick lunch or snack to eat right here together,
- will try five different veggies or fruits in a fun new way.

Children’s cooking classes
Chicken wrap plus mini pies
In this class, first we’re going to roll and cut and the pie crust, fill it with cherry or apple filling, then stick two together and bake them to get a yummy fruity dessert. While the pies are baking, we’re going to make one of my families staple food, chicken shawarmas. The kids will fill their own tortillas with veggies, pre-cooked chicken, eggs or cheese and roll ’em up like pros. Quick grilling and they can eat a healthy and filling lunch.
Ham and cheese triangles plus fruit parfait
The kids in this cooking class will roll out and cut a yeast-based dough, fill it with ham and cheese and roll them. During baking time, we’re going to prepare a nice fruit parfait with yogurt and chia seeds.
Pasta salad with chicken and veggies plus princess cupcakes
In this cooking class, we’re going to make and decorate whole-wheat poppy seed cupcakes. While the cupcakes are in the oven, we will put together a quick and healthy pasta salad with whole-wheat rotini, veggies and cheese.
Allergy friendly cooking class
In this class, we are not going to use eggs, dairy, gluten or nuts. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee nut-free and peanut-free kitchen though, as we do use nuts sometimes.
Ramen-style soup and pumpkin cookies
Pumpkin cookies are one of our favorite healthy snacks, made with pumpkin puree, oats and chocolate chips, in a no-fuss, kid-friendly way. Watch for sticky finger though! 🙂
While we’re waiting for the cookies to bake, we’re going to dress up our own ramen soup. We start with home made beef bone broth base, then add brown rice noodles, pre-cooked chicken, green onions, bok choy and other veggies. Yummy and nutritious, this soup is a staple in my house.
